Expert, insurance-covered breastfeeding care from the comfort of your own home
About Me
Hi! My name is Leslie Houser. I'm a registered nurse, an internationally board certified lactation consultant (IBCLC), a wife, and a mom of 2. When I had my first child 9 years ago, I found myself overwhelmed with the struggles of breastfeeding. The cluster feeding. The sore nipples. Getting him positioned just right. I was not prepared and had absolutely no idea what I was doing. I soon knew that I wanted to become a lactation consultant so I could become the support that I once needed. I have dedicated my professional life to offering evidence-based, inclusive, non-judgmental lactation support to parents of little ones. I truly believe that I have the absolute BEST job in the world. Helping moms learn how to nourish their babies brings me so much joy!

A Note About My Beliefs
The nature of my job is incredibly intimate. Mothers call me, oftentimes in distress, in need of urgent help to ensure the well-being of their babies. I go into the homes of people who are in the most vulnerable state they’ve ever been. I see their bedrooms, meet their other children, admire their family photos on the wall, and then spend an hour or two in close physical proximity while I offer gentle support and education.
Right now in this country, there are millions of people who would shudder at the idea of allowing a stranger into their home, even if that stranger could offer help they desperately need. People are scared. And for good reason. While I am sure there will be some folks who roll their eyes at this statement and think “why is she bringing politics to her job?” I have a simple answer: I owe it to the families I serve to let them know who I am and what I stand for. There is no more sacred space than your own home. It’s supposed to be the safest place in the world for a person and their children, and vulnerable families have the right to know if a person is a risk to them before allowing them to enter their home.
I want to be VERY clear. If you are in need of lactation care and are non-Caucasian, LGBTQ+, non-Christian, or are just generally concerned: You are safe with me. I have always voted for political candidates and policies that aimed to protect you. I am genuinely sorry that the climate in our country feels so heavy, so dangerous; I feel it too. Whether or not you choose me to work with you and your baby, I wish you wellness, safety, and stability in this country who owes much of its prosperity to immigrants. I would be honored to serve you.

"Leslie is incredible! I was beyond frustrated trying to squeeze in to the hospital's lactation clinic only to be told I would have to wait upwards of 3 weeks to be seen. However, Leslie was able to see me the next day after reaching out to her for help! Leslie's ability to be able to come to your home to work with you and baby is truly remarkable. I loved the advice Leslie offered, never making me feel bad about certain things I wanted in my breastfeeding journey. She provided reassurance and comfort and I felt listened to. It was especially nice to be able to learn different ways to feed your baby in the places in your home that you will be during feeds. She checked up on me and baby afterwards quite a few times as well to make sure we were still doing okay. 10/10 recommendation! Added bonus is that insurance covers her visit!" - Katie Bolinger
"I can't recommend Leslie enough! As a new mom, I was overwhelmed, and her quick response and ability to come to our home the very next day brought me so much relief. She was kind, personable, and incredibly understanding. She took the time to listen to my concerns, offer practical solutions, and provide encouragement without judgment. Her presence was calming and reassuring during a time that felt especially vulnerable. I'm so grateful for her support. It made a big difference in my breastfeeding journey." - Asaria Usher
"Leslie is amazing!! My son struggled with breastfeeding, and as a first time mom I had no idea what to do. Leslie encouraged me, guided me, and provided amazing resources and tips to support us in our journey. She worked alongside me, providing hands-on guidance while explaining what she was doing in a way that was easy to understand. I saw other lactation consultants while in the hospital, and I can confidently say that Leslie has a gift and passion for what she does. She is truly an extraordinary nurse, and my family is so grateful for her participation in our story" - Bailey Nance
"Leslie has been amazing with my breastfeeding journey with my last two children. Helping with latch, and working through an oversupply. She's met with me in person and over the phone when I've called her at all hours in tears. She is gentle, professional and very experienced. I wouldn't have made it breastfeeding if it wasn't for her." - Lauren Frey
"Leslie is great! She takes the time to listen to your story, very thorough in her approach, and informative. She was quick to respond when we were in need and respectful of our nursing goals. I have nothing but great things to say about her!" - Abby Kelly
"My little and I have been seeing lactation consultants since she was born almost 7 months ago, with little to no success, after seeing Leslie, a week ago I am at the minimum pumping about 7oz a day! Whereas I wasn't even really pumping much at all and had a severe under supply, I hope with continuing to work with Leslie will help me improve even further! She makes it a point to make the client feel comfortable! And is so careful when handling baby!" - Cade Lovings
"Leslie helped me to figure out what positions my baby preferred when I was a breast feeding for the very first time! My baby was jaundice and I needed to pump to get my milk supply in, she helped me find a good schedule to stay consistent so that I could get more milk to my baby. She was also very helpful in helping me figure out how to manage my quick milk ejection reflex and also my vasospasms! I highly recommend giving Leslie a try, she was a life saver in my first few weeks as a new momma! She is a big reason I am confident and comfortable with breastfeeding 2 months later!" - Amy Davidson
